OFA IN YOUR AREA

I agree, and I love OFA. BUT, you must know that when you are campaigning for a progressive candidate against a BlueDog Democrat, they will be "no where to be found." I volunteered for OFA in 2009 doing initiatives to push our House Rep to vote for ACES and HCR. The last phone bank I organized was for the Massachusetts election this year. As a trade off, the Ga. OFA Reps indicated they would give me some progressive "contacts" in the 22 counties in our Congressional District . . . needless to say, I am still waiting. Now that the primary is over, I am sure I will be hearing from them to PUSH our BlueDog Democrat to vote for whatever comes up before November. (I hope there is some substantive legislation soon, so that he is pressured by the 42% he lost to my progressive candidate to vote YES on Fair Elections and a Clean Energy Bill like he did for the Financial Reform Bill !! He'll need that 42% to beat a Republican in November, and we need to "make hay while the sun shines.")

I encourage all of you to volunteer with Organizing for America (OFA). They should be active in all 50 states by now. If not, please contact the DNC directly ASAP. They have the organization and infrastructure to help in November. The experience from the person in Savannah is indicative of such groups at the Coffee Party. It is mostly people who want to get together to talk or say they are part of an anti-Tea Party group - but they don't DO anything. We need people to get on the phones and Get Out the Vote in November. OFA can do that with your help.

Thank you
